VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR FUN & EXCITEMENT!
Are you are searching for a great opportunity to volunteer some of your time? Here's one where you can have fun and generate excitement, while providing community service and participating in an organized charity event.
Pro Players Association (PPA) is a 501c3 non profit community service organization comprised of current and former professional athletes, media and entertainment personalities, and associate members who work voluntarily on behalf of the community. Pro Players Association's goal is to raise money for worthwhile programs and charities that will benefit the community.
Their mission, simply stated, " Dedication to Serving and Giving Back to the Community", is one proven many times since their incorporation in 2002.
PPA's commitment and dedication of Giving Back to the Community may translate into a hands-on activity by holding a junior football clinic, playing in a charity golf tournament, helping to cook meals to feed the homeless, holding a holiday party for people with disabilities or mentoring to young adults. These events involve much-needed interaction between the community and the Pro Players members.
Such activities also provide a secondary benefit - they offer role models for today's youth. Whether they're at work, playing in a charity tournament or visiting a hospital, Pro Players demonstrate a sense of community that should be shared by all responsible citizens.
Membership with PPA has many benefits. PPA volunteers have loads of fun working side-by-side with the athletes, entertainment, and media personalities, and at the same time, receive acknowledgement, gratification and satisfaction for their efforts in assisting charities. Membership is open to men and women ages 18 and over. Membership dues for Professional Members (current or former pro athletes, media or entertainment personalities) are $45 and Associate Members (everyone else) are $35 annually. Each member receives a PPA polo shirt upon acceptance of their membership application. Several other member benefits which are offered include discounts from a variety of merchants, and even dental services. A portion of the membership dues is tax deductible.
PPA's pros represent a variety of sports, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, MLS, PGA, PBA, WBC, USTA, UWFL, AFL, .MILB, USKBA, USOC, and many more. Our entertainment and media personalities represent the music, television and film industries, as well as local radio, television and other media outlets.
Some of our past events included a clinic for Colorado youth football coaches at Invesco Field; Road Rage and Motormania Car, Truck & Bike Shows; Celebrity Bartending; Military Families Assistance Program; US Amateur Boxing; 5k Race and Walk; World Premiere Red Carpet event at the Denver Center for Performing Arts; Golf Tournaments, and the Concert of Compassion series.
Volunteers are the backbone to the success of these programs. Several events are being scheduled for the near future. Some of the upcoming events include Celebrity Bartender Night; Car, Truck & Bike Shows; Live and Silent auctions; Youth & Coaches Football Clinics; NFL Nights; Music Festival; Celebrity Golf, Bowling and Pool Tournaments; Pro Boxing events, and many more.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Former Denver Bronco Chuck Gavin was appointed as an Honorary Charter Executive Board Member of the Pro Players Association and presented a plaque engraved as follows: "In appreciation of your volunteer service, dedication and continued support to the community projects and charitable programs of the Pro Players Association, we hereby appoint you as Honorary Charter Executive Board Member."
PPA CEO Gary R. Adler visited Chuck on October 27, 2012 at his home where he is bedridden. Although he is immobile he hasn't given up to fighting the cancer. Gary found him in good spirits watching college football. Chuck intends to do his best with rehab to regain strength, get his left side back to working order and get back on his feet again. He expressed his hope to get well enough to go bowling, his favorite activity.
Chuck was very happy and honored to receive the appointment.
All of us at Pro Players Association sincerely thank Chuck for many years of friendship, and his devotion and commitment to our organization and the community. We send him our best wishes and keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
