DENVER GOLF EXPO 2009

Pro Players Association had a booth donated by Expomasters, Inc., for the 2009 Denver Golf Expo, at the Denver Merchandise Mart, February 6-8. Volunteers ran the booth. Our objectives included: 

  • Recruiting new members
  • Recruiting golfers for our tournaments
  • Interact with golf industry representatives
  • Obtaining sponsors for our events
  • Create an awareness in the community of our involvement with golf
  • Solicit for donations

CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENTS 2008

PPA CELEBRITY TOURNAMENT HELD AT ENGLEWOOD'S BROKEN TEE

SEPT 5, 2008 - The Englewood Chamber of Commerce was the host for the PPA Celebrity Charity Tournament held Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Broken Tee Municipal Golf Course in Englewood, CO.

The event was held to benefit a local elementary school where the major portion of its student body consists of at-risk youth. A special fund was earmarked for the use of the monies raised by the tournament in assisting to better the educational goals of the school.

A BBQ lunch was served at the clubhouse prior to the shotgun start at noon, the tournament play began at 1:30PM.

Celebrities who have participated in the tournament included: Jerry Sturm (former Denver Bronco), Gil Whiteley (Mile High Sports Radio), Woody Paige (ESPN), Aaron Smith (former Denver Bronco), Paul Howard (former Denver Bronco), Larry Brunson (former Denver Bronco), Mark McIntosh (9NEWS Colorado & Co. host) and Englewood Mayor Jim Woodward.

Broken Tee, formerly known as the "Englewood Municipal Golf Course", has gone through a total grounds makeover and has successfully reopened on June 27.

CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENTS 2007

 

Pro Players Association assisted local charities in organizing their golf tournaments.

 

PPA celebrities teed off at the following golf tournaments during the month of June.

 

The Salvation Army held their event this year on June 1st at The Ridge at Castle Pines.

The PPA team of Aaron Smith, Willie Oshodin, Ron Egloff and Dave Reavis shot a 62 at the June 1st Tournament at The Ridge.

 

The Fallen Officers Fund of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Celebrity Shoot-Out was held on Thursday, June 7th, at the prestigious Sanctuary. The event raised funds to assist Law Enforcement staff that have been seriously injured and/or killed in the performance of their duties, and their families. Pro Players JimBob Rogers, Ralph Tamm, Walter Stanley, Le-Lo Lang, Ron Egloff, Steve Gottsegen and Lonnie Smith all participated in the event. The estimated net funds raised were $55,000!
