CELEBRITY BARTENDER NIGHT BROUGHT OUT THE TROOPS

Pro Players Association presented a Celebrity Bartender Night at Joe's Crab Shack, Parker, on Wednesday, June 4th at 7pm.

The event was held to benefit the Military Family Relief Fund. Funds raised will aid active-military families in all services of the armed forces to help defray the costs of food, housing, utilities, medical services, and other expenses.

 

Celebrities from sports, media and entertainment, as well as some special guests, served up drinks for tips to benefit the charity. Celebrities who bartended were Mark Cooper, Paul Howard, Bobby Lashley, Marvin Montgomery, Ralph Tamm, Aaron Smith, Bob Mc Caslin, Jim Bob Rogers, Gil Whiteley, Colorado Mammoth Pete Jokicsh, and Parker Mayor David Casiano.

 

An awesome evening complete with a patriotic kick-off at the commencement of the evening with the presentation of the colors by the US Marine Corps, US Army, US Air Force, and US Navy Color Guards to the playing of each unit's Hymn and then our National Anthem. DJ Mike Harris was spinning the hits from 7pm - 8pm, and was followed by a LIVE musical performance by "Chase N The Dream", from 8pm - 10pm on the Car Toys/JBL "Aftershock" mobile concert stage. A Silent Auction was held, and door prizes were drawn throughout the evening.

 

A $20 cover charge was paid at the door which included a featured drink, event t-shirt and door prize entry.

 

Last year, Pro Players Association collected hundreds of school supplies for military families which were then distributed by the Salvation Army.

CELEBRATION & STREET FAIR SUPPORTS YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAMS

Pro Players Association proudly presented a Celebration and Street Fair to mark the Grand Opening of the new A1 Boxing & Fitness location. The event will took place on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 1pm - 4pm in the front parking area of the strip mall, located at 700 S. Buckley in Aurora.

The Street Fair offered fun, food, music and entertainment! Custom show cars, motorcycles, and a Monster Truck from Xtreme Performance was  on display. Spectators climbed a rock wall, watched demos of fighting arts and fitness, enjoyed the beat of the music, chowed down some great food and drink, and bid on some awesome silent auction items.

Colorado's own, Two-Time World Champion Stevie "Lil' But Bad" Johnston, (37-3-1, 17 KOs) signed autographs. Johnston trains at A1 Boxing & Fitness and is looking forward to fighting for his next win in North Carolina on May 21, (airs LIVE on ESPN).

ationally recognized musical artists," Chase 'n the Dream" kicked-off the event performing on the sixty (60) foot semi which boosts an 80,000 watt custom JBL sound stage. Chase has opened for various bands, such as the Ohio Players, Jennifer Holiday, the Chi-Lites, Gerald Albright, Rodger Bloodstone, Stephanie Mills, and Kool and the Gang. Following the band's performance, local DJ Johnny Lee Wilson of Howlin' Good Mobile Entertainment spinned some hot tunes from the Aftershock stage. Street vendors included Joe's Crab Shack, Xtreme Performance, Car Toys, U.S. Bank, Tropical Oasis Drinks, Vemma, Colorado Army National Guard, Pro Players Association, True Kustom Paint & Fabrication, Ribs on Wheels Meats, Visalus, Perfect Drinking Water, Club Auto Colorado, and Motor Sport Country Club.

A1 Boxing & Fitness opened its doors presenting instruction and training in fighting arts and fitness. A silent auction was held, and a portion of the proceeds from the days' events was to benefit Pro Players Association's Mentoring Youth Programs throughout the Front Range. Members of Pro Players Association work hand-in-hand with local law enforcement agencies and educators in mentoring youth who struggle with a variety of issues.

PPA REPRESENTED AT FRONT RANGE SHOWCASE

Spring brings the Front Range Showcase where consumers browse booths displaying all that Castle Rock has to offer in shopping, business, home, garden and play. This trade show brought out thousands of people who want to be entertained and educated on the different products and services in the area. The Castle Rock Chamber hosted and coordinated this annual event.

 

Pro Players Association had a booth at the Showcase to recruit members and promote our upcoming events. The Castle Rock Chamber donated the booth space to PPA in exchange for us providing autograph sessions over the two-day event.

 

The event ran Friday, April 11 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday, April 12 from 10:00am - 5:00pm at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock. 

 

We signed up a new Associate member, Julie Arlotti of Castle Rock. Julie is an events professional and we welcome her to our organization!

 

We also made several new contacts with local merchants and town officials. All-in-all, it was worth the time invested.

HUNDREDS ATTEND CLUBAUTO/LEMAY MUSEUM PARTY

The auto party of the year featured an incredible collection of vehicles. Hundreds turned out for the Grand Opening Party, February 29th in Lakewood. Endless food, drinks and music were served-up throughout the evening as guests mingled among the display of vehicles representing the last century. PPA was well represented by Gary R. Adler, Dave and Fran Studdard, Paul and Jackiel Howard, Mark McIntosh, Dan Stewart, Steve Kopff, Jay Troy, Bob McCaslin, John and Valerie McCaslin, Marvin Montgomery, Joe and Amy Foley.

Road Rage participants attended from local car clubs including the Highlands Ranch Hot Rodders and Castle Rock Vintage Car Club.

FOOD BANK RAFFLE DRAWN AT SUPER BOWL PARTY

Elway bronze raffle winner, Steve Udden of Castle Rock, joyfully accepts his prize from PPA President Gary R. Adler. Proceeds from the NFL season-long raffle benefit the Food Bank of the Rockies.

CLOTHING DONATED TO TASK FORCE

PPA has donated approximately $1200 worth of new clothing from our Pro Players Association Sports Plus Store inventory to the Douglas County Task Force in February 2008.

The Task Force will sell the clothes in their thrift shop to generate funds for the many services they provide the Douglas County community. Among the many services provided are a food bank, public utilities and rent financial assistance, family assistance, and medical and dental vouchers.

TOYS FOR TOTS EVENT GREAT SUCCESS

The event held on Friday evening, December 7th at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Castle Rock was a great success for the Toys for Tots Campaign. A dinner-dance sponsored by AutoMaster of Castle Rock and several other local merchants netted a truck-load of toys for the Marine Corps program. Pro Players Association donated approximately $200 worth of toys to the event. Everyone enjoyed the musical entertainment provided by TC & the Domestic Engineers. Thanks to Dave Studdard for attending the event, signing autographs, and schmozing with the guests.

"TTS RACE FOR HOPE" HELD NOVEMBER 11TH

On November 11th, 2007 (also Veterans Day), the 4th annual TTTS Race for Hope 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, Family Festival and Sponsor Expo took place at Washington Park, in Denver.  This was a top 25 Colorado event and benefits the Fetal Hope Foundation. 

 

The TTTS Race for Hope is our premier fundraising event (they are a national series) and our Denver event is the largest of them all in the US.  The event had everything from on course entertainment, to free beer, massages, food sampling, a free lunch, fun for kids at our family festival and much, much more!

 

Every day we lose more than 30 babies to a fetal syndrome or distress such as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, Acardiac Twin, Intrauterine Growth Restriction, Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction, and many more.  We can save over 20 babies a day with proper diagnosis and medical care.  This is the mission of Fetal Hope.  For you that have kids, you know all to well how much they mean to you.  Imagine that you never got to see them grow up, or take those first steps, or utter those first words?  Today 10 families are learning they won't have those memories you and we have. 

 

Lonnie Somers, CEO of Fetal Hope was fortunate, his girls (thanks to a fetal surgeon), survived a syndrome that we giving ZERO HOPE they would ever survive. PPA's presence at the event helped us make a difference! 

 

PPA's involvement this year was fantastic and added a lot of fun and excitement to the event. Dave Studdard and Bill Harris were recognized as Grand Marshals of the event, assisted with the start of both the kids run and main run, congratulated the participants at the finish line, and signed hundreds of autographs.

O'MEARA SHOW WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! Hundreds of vehicles in attendance!

O'Meara Ford held their Annual Extravaganza and Anniversary Celebration Car, Truck & Bike Show. Saturday, August 18; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at the dealership, 400 W. 104th Ave., Northglenn, CO. (104th & I-25)

Show cars, trucks and motorcycles from Antiques to Tuners, Choppers to Customs, Off-Road to Racers and everything in-between participated in the show which awarded trophies in twenty-five (25) categories.

The event had a sort of street fair atmosphere of food, fun and merriment presented by a festival of vendors. Pro Players Association presentied an autograph session throughout the day featuring Pro Athletes including retired Denver Broncos players. "DJ Zion" was spinning tunes all day and members of the Colorado Irish Pipe Band presented a musical performance at noon.

Participants in the festival featured several food vendors, products and services from several local merchants, and the U.S. Marine Corps had their "Chin-Up Challenge" set-up for those who were  willing to give it a try.

A Silent Auction was held with some awesome and unique items which benefited the University of Colorado Foundation for Prostate Cancer Research.

ROAD RAGE CAR, TRUCK & BIKE SHOWS

The Road Rage Car, Truck & Bike Show took place at The Rockyard Brewery in Castle Rock on Saturday, September 22;  12 noon - 4pm.

 

Show cars, trucks and motorcycles from Antique to Scions, Choppers to Customs and everything in-between were invited to participate.


Prizes were awarded for "Best of Show, "Best Paint", "Best Original", "Best Custom", "Best Hot Rod", and "Most Exotic". Judging was based on exterior, interior, engine, display and overall presentation. Drink and food "Specials" were offered by the Rockyard during the event. Musical entertainment was provided.


The September 22 event benefited PPA Youth Sports Clinics & Programs in Colorado.

The Rockyard is located at 880 W. Castleton Dr., Castle Rock, just south of the Castle Rock Outlet Mall.

This was the final Road Rage event for the 2007 season. Future events for the 2008 season will be published after the first of the new year.

 We raised thousands of dollars for charities including Castle Rock Explorer Post 401, Douglas County Fallen Officers Fund, Friends of Jake Fund for Service Dogs, University of Colorado Foundation for Prostate Cancer Research, and PPA Youth Sports Camps and Clinics. Thanks to all our participants, sponsors, vendors, celebrities and volunteers for helping to make the 2007 Road Rage season a success!

Pro Players Association presented the Road Rage Car, Truck & Bike Show®, Saturday, September 9; 12 noon - 4pm; Joe's Crab Shack, 19320 Cottonwood Drive, Parker, to benefit the Douglas County Fallen Officers Fund.

The Fallen Officer Fund of Douglas County Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized exclusively for providing financial grants to the spouse, parents, significant partner and children of law enforcement members killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. This fund was established to ensure the proper support and emotional care for families of law enforcement members from Castle Rock Police, Lone Tree Police, Parker Police and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. This assistance is provided whether the death or serious injury was a deliberate criminal act or accidental (i.e. automobile crash, hit by a passing vehicle during a traffic stop, training accident, etc) while the member was performing a law enforcement function, either on or off-duty. 

Thanks to the weatherman's report of hail and rain for the day, we only had a small showing of vehicles, and of course the weather turned out to be awesome!

Kudos to Joe's Crab Shack, The "Fables" who entertained us all day with their Beatles and 60's - 70's Music, Guitar Center of Lone Tree for loaning us a PA System, O'Meara Ford for allowing us to display the Broncomobile, Suzi and Warren from the National Guard who came to lend-a-hand, and our vendors Scott from American-National Insurance and Jason from Auto Appraisal Network, who made the trip all the way from Wyoming! Thanks also to the Arapahoe and El Paso Sheriff's Offices who passed on the word of the event---several of your officers attended.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT DONATED TO DISABILITY CENTER

PPA donated a truck load of used computer equipment and new software to the Disability Center for Independent Living in Denver on July 2, 2007. Several CPU's, monitors and printers will be refreshed and updated by a volunteer IT engineer. The equipment will then be distributed to disabled individuals who otherwise could not afford a computer. Some of the equipment will be utilized at the center's office. A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the Greenwood Village Police Department on Friday, August 17, for their assistance with the Celebrity Bartender Night on March 15, 2007 at the Purple Martini.
